I bought the wow flash "grape" (this shows up as a wow flash "jade" review because there was a pair of jades in my order) as a volleyball shoe, looking more for a showy shoe than performance. I play LIbero so I typically prefer mid to high top shoes for lateral movement and ankle stability, so I wasn't expecting these to be a great back row shoe. That being said, it is a great back row shoe. The court traction is really good, though I did find myself wiping the bottom of my shoe more so than my other shoes, but if your on a clean court, this shouldn't be a very big problem. I found that the traction was a lot softer than most of my other shoes, being closer to the traction style of foam shoes such as Mizuno, and not squeaky hard like a typical basketball or volleyball shoe with a hard grip, even though that is the feel and appearance of the outsole. The outsole also extends a small amount to the outer side of your foot to keep your foot stable, which I really appreciate in any shoe. The cushioning on the shoe Is for lack of a better term, outstanding. I don't typically do a lot of jumping as my position doesn't require it, but when I do use these for hitting when I'm playing for fun, they are amazing. The landing feels amazing, much better than anything else I've worn, and even though the thickness of the sole gives you quite a lot of height, it doesn't feel top heavy or prone to rolling at all. The leather (I'm not sure if it is real or synthetic) is very good, out of the box it is a little stiff but once your foot warms up inside the shoe and you move around and play, it breaks in decently fast and is very comfortable. The laces are good material, I like them a lot, but I'm sort of skeptical about the two lace eyelets at the front of the shoe. They appear to be sown in well but whenever this style of lace eyelets is put on a shoe I'm concerned they might rip off with excessive stress, but so far I've had no problems with them. The tongue of the shoe is very nice, it's rigid enough to hold it's position without relying completely on the laces to hold it in place, but not too hard to be uncomfortable on the top of the foot. Definitely one of the best tongues in a shoe I've ever tried. As for the breathability of the shoe, don't let all the micro holes in the shoe fool you, it's breathable, but no more than any other court shoe I've worn. From the aesthetic point of view, it does look nice but from a practical point of view, it doesn't do much. My biggest issue with the shoe I've had so far is the insole. I don't expect a budget shoe to come with top tier insoles like VKTRY insoles or such, but these insoles were pathetic. When I was playing in them for the first time, they felt thin and when I took my foot out, the insole came along with my foot as well. Not the best thing to have happen in a shoe. Since then, I've replaced the insoles with a stiffer pair from a pair of Adidas running shoes and haven't had a problem with them since. Other than that, it is a great shoe. I also really appreciate the lining on the heel, which is rough and keeps your heel locked in and prevents any heel slippage which is very very nice. There is also a small version of the lighting bolt that is on the outside of the shoe embroidered on the inside of the heel area which is nice. All in all, this is an amazing shoe for the price, I will be giving it a 5 star rating because I don't think the insole is a big enough deal to take away a star.
